Mepilex® Ag is a versatile antimicrobial foam dressing developed to support wound healing while effectively reducing microbial load. Specifically designed for low to moderately exuding wounds, it’s ideal for treating conditions such as pressure ulcers, leg and foot ulcers, and partial-thickness burns. By combining rapid antimicrobial action with gentle adhesion, Mepilex Ag offers both clinical effectiveness and comfort for patients.

This silver-infused dressing begins inactivating a wide range of wound-related pathogens—including bacteria and fungi—within 30 minutes, as demonstrated in laboratory testing. Its antimicrobial barrier helps reduce bioburden in infected wounds and offers added protection for wounds at high risk of infection or re-infection.

The dressing is lined with Safetac®, the original silicone-based contact layer that adheres gently to skin and minimizes pain during dressing changes—making it a valuable solution for sensitive and vulnerable skin.

Key Features:

  • Rapid Antimicrobial Action
Contains silver that begins to inactivate pathogens within 30 minutes, offering swift microbial control.

  • Versatile Use
Suitable for a variety of low to moderately exuding wounds, including leg ulcers, foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, and partial-thickness burns.

  • Protective Antimicrobial Barrier
Provides ongoing protection against infection and helps manage bioburden in both infected and at-risk wounds.

  • Safetac® Gentle Adhesion
Minimizes trauma to the wound and surrounding skin, while ensuring less pain during dressing changes.

  • Clinically Proven Performance
Studies show faster healing times, reduced treatment costs, and lower pain and anxiety levels in patients with partial-thickness burns.

  • Reduces patient discomfort and distress during dressing changes

  • Demonstrated to lower overall treatment costs in clinical settings

When to use Mepilex Ag

You can use Mepilex Ag to manage low to moderately exuding wounds, such as leg and foot ulcers, pressure ulcers and partial thickness burns. And it can be used under compression bandaging. Mepilex Ag may be used on infected wounds as part of a treatment regimen under supervision of a qualified health care professional.

How to use Mepilex Ag

Watch how you easily apply our all-in-one Mepilex Ag dressing. Start by cleaning the wound prior to applying the dressing. For best result, Mepilex Ag should overlap the dry surrounding skin by at least 1-2 cm for the smaller sizes (sizes up to 12.5x12.5 cm) and 5 cm for the larger sizes in order to protect the surrounding skin from maceration and excoriation and fixate the dressing securely. Try Tubifast® when you need a fixation.

When you need a dressing that combines effective antimicrobial protection with patient comfort, Mepilex® Ag offers a trusted and clinically supported solution—designed to make a difference in both healing and quality of care.
